Management Training – Going After What You Want

We limit ourselves! And we are limited. The latter is simply true if only neuroscientifically. But the first? That’s where we can certainly make further gains. Past participants of our management training class Philadelphia, management training program Atlanta and management training Washington DC, can certainly attest to an awakening about using their potential to go past current limitations.

There is an important shift needed to get past going for what you want instead of strategizing what you think you can get. The first part of the shift is discovering that you do have limited thinking; limiting beliefs…about what you think is possible. When you attend our management training class Philadelphia, management training program Atlanta and management training Washington DC, you begin to lift the covers off the old sight-lines of what is possible.

Your mind will make an argument that some things you want are out of reach because it can’t see any practical means of attaining it. But that’s exactly where the limit lies. We get fooled that what we see is all we can get. But there are a zillion models out there demonstrating something different. Go to the government’s patent bureau and what will you find? Inventions! And by definition, an invention is something that had never been before. Something wanted but initially no way to have it. In our management training class Philadelphia, management training program Atlanta and management training Washington DC, we play with creativity as a means to finding more options; what you want vs only what you think you can get.

So notice your limited thinking about what you want. Do look for avenues toward what you can get. Those things are good. But start a new paradigm of thinking; one that says there is nothing that you can’t have. Vision that something in all its components. See it so clearly in your mind that it "feels" undeniably real. With the help of our management training class Philadelphia, management training program Atlanta and management training Washington DC, you will begin to notice that the means to have what you want begin to appear where before, you couldn’t see them. That’s a good thing!

Presentation Training – Using Humor

In reading the feedback forms from yesterday’s Powerful Presentations class, one participant wrote that overall, the class was a 10! But he or she added that one of my "jokes" was inappropriate. I searched back through the day attempting to recall what I possibly could have said to "offend" that person. None of the other 14 sheets mentioned this. In our presentation training San Jose, presentation class New York City, and presentation training San Francisco, we discuss the audience at length.

As human beings, every one of us has preferences and prejudices. It’s simply impossible to discover these en total in your varied audiences. When you are presenting material, no matter the subject and professional benefits within, your material will still land within every person there. When you participate in our presentation training San Jose, presentation class New York City, and presentation training San Francisco, you will take a look at yourself as external stimuli in those people’s lives.

It is true that each of us is responsible for our own sensitivities. But as a presenter, it is your responsibility to become extra aware of what thoughts come through before you actually speak them. You will be reminded during your participation in our presentation training San Jose, presentation class New York City, and presentation training San Francisco, that there is always a moment of choice before you select what comes out of your mouth.

Humor can be a wonderful relationship builder during presentations. But as my error yesterday demonstrates, it can also go awry. Is there any way to be 100% perfect in what you choose to say? No! But if you notice even an ounce of doubt during that moment of preselection, go with your gut and go down the more conservative road. Practicing this during our presentation training San Jose, presentation class New York City, and presentation training San Francisco, will bring that next step of awareness toward your greater success.

Management Training – Sarcasm

Sarcasm definition:

The use of words that mean the opposite of what you really want to say especially to insult someone, show irritation or be funny

A sharp and often satirical utterance designed to cut or give pain

During our management training class Philadelphia, management training program Atlanta and management training Washington DC, we ask why any manager would promote or allow such negative communication.

Many people simply have not been taught how to have open and honest communication. While that causes tons of miscommunication and conflict, when you attend our management training class Philadelphia, management training program Atlanta and management training Washington DC, you will notice that we actually see this as yet another opportunity to improve.

It usually takes two ingredients to shift from sarcasm to more directly saying what you truly want or need: awareness and courage. Our management training class Philadelphia, management training program Atlanta and management training Washington DC, attend to both.

We spend time and thoughtfulness on EQ-Total Life Intelligence during our management training class Philadelphia, management training program Atlanta and management training Washington DC. This huge tool gives insights into how to tune into current negative influences and turn them toward the positive. We also take you through exercises designed to bring out more courage from within you.

In our presentation training Seattle, presentation class New York City, and presentation training San Francisco, we discussed how enthusiasm can be reignited.

Managment Training – WIIFT (What’s in it for them)?

As we deliver management and leadership training globally, the same story emerges over and over again: "Upper management doesn’t listen to us." This is an unwelcome and disfunctional plight. Attending our management training Seattle, management training Philadelphia, management training programs Chicago, and management training program Atlanta, will give you an opportunity to commiserate with other managers about this communication barrier.

When women and men reach the upper levels on the organizational chart, they remain human. And humans tend to form cliques. And those cliques tend to exclude you. So what will transcend those barriers? Our management training Seattle, management training Philadelphia, management training programs Chicago, and management training program Atlanta, will bring you many useful skills and insights for broaching the gap.

So, WIIFT? (What’s In It For Them?). If you don’t have this answer before you present your request to upper management then you are likely to fail. Abraham Lincoln used the method of giving 2/3 of his prep time thinking about how his audience would take in his messages and 1/3 thinking about what he would actually say. When you attend our management training Seattle, management training Philadelphia, management training programs Chicago, and management training program Atlanta, you get much more clear about the best mindset to be in for persuading senior management about anything important to you.

Your mindset is a huge factor. If you view their authority as intimidating, you will probably not even try to communicate with them. But if you can discover in advance the kinds of things they value, they appreciate, WIIFT, then your confidence level will skyrocket. In our management training Seattle, management training Philadelphia, management training programs Chicago, and management training program Atlanta, we show you how serving your boss will ultimately serve you.

Presentation Training – Answering Tough Questions

Fear! That’s what many of us have about being asked questions that we don’t know the full answer to. Have you ever been rolling along smoothly on your topic only to be rattled by a sharp or even accusatory question? In our presentation class San Francisco, presentation training San Jose, and presentation training class Boston, we explore the emotions behind this and methods to deal with the tough questions and the sometimes difficult person asking them.

Let’s start with the tough questions themselves. Perspective is the key. After all, a question is simply a question. Two factors that can have us look at a question as tough are: first, "we" think we need to know every answer. Second, the person asking the question imposes their "you should know the answer" on us in a forceful way. During our presentation class San Francisco, presentation training San Jose, and presentation training class Boston, we discuss the role of the egoic mind which gets triggered by other people’s expectations of us.

The simple (perhaps not easy at first) answer to this is to acknowledge to yourself that you simply cannot know the answer to everything. Can NOT! This is a very useful and stress reducing perspective to be in. You can practice getting a handle on permanently adopting this point of view when you participate in our presentation class San Francisco, presentation training San Jose, and presentation training class Boston.

And what about the tough questioner? How to deal with them? A small percentage of your audience have dominating egos that crave power. They use a "beat-’em’-up" approach in life, bullying if you will, to try and make themselves feel better through righteousness (they are right and you are wrong -for not knowing the answer). We discuss ways to disarm these aggressive people during our presentation class San Francisco, presentation training San Jose, and presentation training class Boston.

Management Training – Setting the Example

You probably spend each work day like most other work days, attending meetings, myriad phone calls, a zillion emails, putting out fires. But do you keep in mind, always, that you are setting THE example to follow in everything you do? At the management training class Chicago, management training program San Francisco and management training San Jose, you realize with extra clarity that that’s what leaders do.

What do your team members see and hear when around you? Do they assess you as positive or negative? Directorial or understanding? Approachable or unapproachable? It is imperative that you step outside your own little world of "To Do’s" to understand that you are being observed as the model of how to be. When participating in our management training class Chicago, management training program San Francisco and management training San Jose, a next level of awareness will catapult you into the next level of success with leading and managing people.

It doesn’t take more time to be a great example of ideal professionalism. It takes more self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and managing relationships. That what you’ll uncover during your attendance at our management training class Chicago, management training program San Francisco and management training San Jose.

You most likely can’t do this transitioning on your own. You don’t have the time nor teaching. That’s why we are here. The passion of service during our management training class Chicago, management training program San Francisco and management training San Jose, is evident in every one of our training faculty. We ourselves model that which we suggest you take on.

Presentation Training – Presenting to Executives

Anticipation can go sky high at the thought of presenting to senior management. And there is some legitimate cause for concern. These men and women have paid their dues and generally expect more from our presentations than your standard audience. At our presentation training San Jose, presentation New York City, and presentation training San Francisco, we unpack the skills and attitude you will need to be successful with these more demanding folks.

Here’s the thing. If you’ve done your preparation and you know your stuff, well, you can only know what you know. The good news is that you will know more about your material than the executives do. They will be in good hands with you. During our presentation training San Jose, presentation  New York City, and presentation training San Francisco, we will complement your knowledge with the presentation skills needed to hit a home run in the boardroom.

But there is still the worry-mind to deal with. When you participate in our presentation training San Jose, presentation  New York City, and presentation training San Francisco, you will have an opportunity to look inward at the internal dynamics that you do have some control over.

Who is in charge of your thoughts and feelings of trepidation? Who runs your mind? You do! That’s great news. As you work through exceptional presentation skills in our presentation training San Jose, presentation  New York City, and presentation training San Francisco, you also have the time to observe your mind’s dynamics. You strengthen the view that you are knowledgable. You have personal power. You can present from certainty. Senior managers will appreciate that.
